Finally released on Blu-ray and DVD, “Pain & Gain” represents a “Do not miss” movie directed by the one and only Michael Bay. Now, let’s see the cast and understand why so many people gave the movie only thumbs up: Mark Wahlberg as Daniel Lugo, Dwayne Johnson as Paul Doyle, Anthony Mackie as Adrian Doorbal, Ed Harris as Ed DuBois and Tony Shalhoub as Victor Kershaw. Daniel is a physical trainer that works as a manager at Sun Gym but he wants to succeed and get rich. He dreams big and wants to become the big dog around campus. So, in order to accomplish this feat he goes after Victor Kershaw, a very wealthy man. Daniel develops a perilous kidnapping scheme with his best friend Adrian and a religious “dum-dum” Paul, which will result in Victor handing them over all of his money and assets. Still, with newfound fortune, the three wise guys find more trouble than peace, which leads to stupid things to occur. Their short-lived reign as new money-makers ends abruptly when hunger for more strikes again.

The movie “Pain & Gain” takes place in Miami, gathering one ridiculous thing after another. Mark Wahlberg’s character narrates the story, keeping a high level of funny stuff inserted basically every scene. You will also love Ed Harris character: a retired private eye that helps Victor catch Daniel and his crew. Still, the biggest gain of the movie comes from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s role. His portrayal of the idiotic religious enforcer is a visual delight worth taking in. Well, the movie “Pain & Gain” is more than a comedy, shaping up to become a witty experience in the exclusive essence of stupidity.
